Cleo is the moon of Boreas, a planet in the Outlands. It is the location of Broken Moon.
Description
Cleo orbits Boreas, which is the second planet from the sun in the Asteria System.[1]
History
Cleo was discovered alongside the rest of the Outlands in the 2300s; it was not colonized like its planet Boreas was. In 2708, a meteor struck Cleo and partially shattered it, causing significant damage to both the planet and the moon. Estimates made by the Chikuum Meteorological Group concluded that, if left alone, Boreas would become uninhabitable in 50-70 years.[2] In 2712, the colony Hope was established to terraform the shattered portion of Cleo. Through its efforts, the moon was made habitable by 2715[3], but over time, public interest and investment in the project began to wane, so the Cleo Restoration Committee was forced to open the moon to for-profit groups for funding.[4] Eventually the Apex Games acquired the entire colony, halting all terraforming work.[5]
Locations
- Broken Moon - Formerly a colony called Hope, built in 2712 for the purpose of repairing damage done to Cleo. Over time the colony become privatized and was eventually sold to the Mercenary Syndicate to serve as an arena in the Apex Games.
