Because of Arenas is introduced, may looks confusion to players who is new to Apex Legends especially start plays from S9. suggest to change the heading as abovementioned. Specgineff (talk) 16:29, 8 May 2021 (UTC)

Presentation of mobile content

There have been some debate regarding how we should present content from Apex Legends Mobile on this wiki so I want to put the issue up for a vote. The suggestion was that we should instance (separate) Mobile and Main game content, this is contrary to the way we are doing it now which is keeping everything in one page for comparable stuff from both games.

To vote for separating, comment a bolded "FOR", to vote against the suggestion just comment a bolded "AGAINST", alongside a reasoning for your vote if any. Don't forget to add a signature after your vote and reasoning by adding four tildes (~~~~).

Now, if you wish to vote for the suggestion there's a couple of ways we can go about this change and in order to make sure we make a decision about this as soon as possible, please also include your preferred way to go about this in your vote. We can either use namespaces, subpages or just add a parenthesis to the mobile page. Examples and cons are as follows:

Type Example (Main) Example (Mobile) Pros/cons
Namespaces Bangalore Mobile:Bangalore Better compartmentalization and is easier to search for and manage. Naming looks "unfriendly" for new editors and may be harder to wikilink.
Subpages Bangalore/Mobile Clear hierarchy of content and is a method we already use, but may also lead to issues if its parent article is deleted and/or moved.
Parenthesizing Bangalore (Mobile) Easier and more flexible with regards to usage but is clunkier to wikilink and is also something we already use to differentiate content, harder to search for.

We will be tabulating the votes two days after posting this and will be editing the Style guide reflecting the results of the votes after.

For. They're different games, and I want to treat them as such. I'd prefer parenthesizing, since that's what I see most wikis do, but any of these options oughta work. Jockshocker (talk) 20:23, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
For. These are two separate games as mentioned, and eventually they'll be divergent enough that a combined page would be incomprehensible. Who knows what Mobile will look like in a month compared to PC? (I'd also like to have a third page for the character/lore itself, but we can leave that issue for another day.) I'll also vote for parentheses. AeniasGaming (talk) 03:38, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
Lore pages for each character could be definitely done along with Cosmetics but not all of the ways to separate the pages are conducive to such a change.

Neutral (+1 For, +1 Against). If a page needs to be split between Main and Mobile, we should go with the format "Subject (Mobile)", like I already did with Season 1 (Mobile), due to the format being basically used on every wiki, no reason to change it if it works so well. For. The only thing guaranteed to stay the same between both games is the lore, and there's no point compartmentalising whole pages around it. I do suggest that regular Apex pages have a header asking readers if they're looking for the mobile page and vice versa. MyManBert (talk) 14:16, 4 June 2022 (UTC)

Presentation of names in legend infoboxes and hierarchy of verification

We've noticed there's been a recurring issue with regards to how the real names of the legends are presented. The way we have been doing it (from what I can understand) is just following the official website for their full name, with titles included. That means Ash's name would be presented as "Dr. Ashleigh Reid" instead of just "Ashleigh Reid". Now we can understand why the latter thing would be preferable to some but to prevent future edit wars on this, we've decided to put the issue to a vote.

This is also the perfect time to decide on the issue of hierarchy of sources, aka "which info do we consider the "correct" one when there's a conflict". We haven't had a formalized one since the wiki was started, the thing about in-game descriptions trumping any other else is limited to ability descriptions. After this, we're considering on adding a formalized order to the wiki. Right now it's that:

Developer corrections/clarifications > in-game descriptions > official website descriptions/names > official printed sources > others

Reply with your vote regarding the name issue and any input about the source hierarchy or if you would like it changed.
