Apex Legends features a variety of game modes, which can go from tweaking the way Battle Royale is played to completely change the gameplay.
There are currently eight permanent modes: Training, Firing Range, Battle Royale Trios and Duos, Ranked Leagues and the Mixtape (Control, Gun Run and Team Deathmatch).
During some Events, a Limited Time Mode or Takeover may be enabled for play. Takeovers directly affect either all or some Battle Royale modes.

These modes will always be available, regardless of Events.

Formerly permanent modes
Currently, Arenas and Ranked Arenas are the only modes to have been permanent in the past, and later removed from rotation.

Limited Time Modes and Takeovers
Limited Time Modes (LTMs) are temporary game modes, often added as part of events, which can be selected separately from the standard game modes. Limited Time Takeovers (LTTs) are similarly temporary, but replace a standard game mode for the duration.
