Up Close and Personal is a Stories from the Outlands animated short released on January 27, 2020, to promote Season 4.
Synopsis
In an exclusive report from Outlands TV, field correspondent Lisa Stone interviews five-time Hyperfighting Federation champion James "The Forge" McCormick; backed by Hammond Robotics, the fighter has announced his intention to join the Apex Games. Less than a minute into the interview, Revenant sneaks onto set and impales Forge from behind, killing him. The broadcast immediately cuts off.
Details and easter eggs
- This interview was conducted in the train station at Sorting Factory on World's Edge, and prior to the release of the short, the set could be seen in-game. After the release, a Death Box was added containing Forge's medallion; picking it up would add the Steel Cut weapon charm to the player's collection.
