Location World's Edge

Monument is a location found on World's Edge. It was added in Season 17.svg Season 17, replacing Fragment West.

Gameplay

Monument is a mid tier loot zone composed of several multi-story buildings, most of which are skyscrapers. In the center is a museum embedded partially in the ground, accessible by staircases and ziplines. A suspended railway cuts through the southwest corner of the area, leading from the north to the east. Also to the east is a chasm full of lava, dividing Monument from Fragment East. To the northeast is Epicenter, and to the west and south is a mountain range with narrow passages connecting to Landslide and Harvester.

Lore

Capitol City was the central hub of the World's Edge settlement on Talos, and the nearest city to the New Dawn coolant plant. The city was abandoned after the plant exploded and coated the surrounding area in a lethal flash-freeze, and was left untouched until World's Edge became a new arena for the Apex Games. The city fell into further disrepair after the Harvester caused a lava fissure to split the city in half. The western half was later renovated to accommodate the new Apex Games Museum, documenting the history of the Thunderdome Games and the early days of the Apex Games.
