Armor Regen is a Limited Time Takeover introduced in 
Season 8's 
War Games Themed Event.
Due to being a Takeover, Armor Regen directly affects the Play Apex game mode rather than being in a separate mode selection.

Details
A Legend's damaged 
Body Shield automatically starts regenerating at a rate of 12 shields per second after not taking damage for 8 seconds. The cooldown is doubled to 16 seconds if the shield got fully depleted instead. 
Shield Cells cannot be found.
