Lockdown is a Mixtape game mode in which four teams compete to take control of temporary zones. It was introduced as a Limited Time Mode in Season 20.svg Season 20's Shadow Society.svg Shadow Society Event, then permanently added through the Mixtape playlist in Season 21.svg Season 21.

Details

Players

  • Four teams of three Legends compete against each other.
    • The teams are split into Wolf Squad, Eagle Squad, Bear Squad, and Tiger Squad. They are respectively colored blue, purple, pink, orange.
  • All Legends are pre-equipped with a Body Shield.svg Body Shield, a Helmet.svg Helmet, infinite ammo, infinite Shield Cell.svg Shield Cells, and infinite Shield Battery.svg Shield Batteries. They also will be respawned automatically upon death.
  • Health will regenerate automatically after not taking damage for 6 seconds.
  • Legends cannot get knocked down and enter the Bleeding Out state, dying instead as soon as their health is depleted. When a Legend dies, they drop their weapons and ordnance.
  • Five weapon loadouts are available to select from, and can be changed while awaiting respawn.
    • Weapon optics can be changed while selecting a loadout.
  • Ash's Marked for Death.svg Marked for Death will automatically ping a squad member's killer upon their death, due to the lack of Death Boxes.
  • Lifeline's Care Package.svg Care Package always contains three Body Shield.svg Body Shields.

Gameplay

The goal of Lockdown is to score points by capturing and holding Capture Zones.

  • Small Zones periodically open on various points of the map, however they have a 30 seconds cooldown before they can start being captured.
    • When a Zone becomes available for capture, it is marked as "Neutral".
    • When a Zone becomes available for capture, it remains open for 1 minute and 30 seconds, after which it closes and a new one somewhere else immediately opens, entering the 30 seconds cooldown.
    • A Zone may stay open more than usual if a Last Stand is happening on it, with at least two Legends of different teams being on it while the Zone has technically expired.
  • On match start, Zone A opens on the map. After Zone A has been opened for a minute (30 seconds cooldown plus 30 seconds available for capture), Zone B opens on the map.
  • When a Zone is captured, the alive members of the team who captured it get fully healed if they were on it, and at the center of the Zone 3 ordnance, 2 Fully Kitted Weapons, and a Supply Drop Weapon are spawned.
  • Once a team reaches 400 points the Zone behavior changes slightly, with only one Zone being available at a time rather than two.
    • The first time this happens, once the Zone nearest to closure stops being available or is captured, it doesn't open anywhere else until the other Zone stops being available or is captured.
  • Points are awarded based on the following actions: Holding Zone (every 3 seconds) and Enemy Kill, each awarding 5 points.
    • Contested Zones still award "Holding Zone" points to all teams that are on it.
    • During a Last Stand, no "Holding Zone" points are awarded.

Winning

There are two ways to win in Lockdown.

  • The first team to reach 400 points wins.
  • Lockdown matches have a time limit of 10 minutes. If none of the teams have reached 400 points when the time expires, the team with the most points wins.
