Gridiron is a planet in the Frontier. It is Bangalore and Newcastle's home planet, and was featured in Titanfall's multiplayer maps Training Ground and Rise.

Description

Gridiron is the second planet from the sun in the Wichita System, placing it in the same system as Angelia. It is a heavily terraformed desert planet with a population of over 90 million. Direct exposure to sunlight on some parts of the planet can result in a lethal dose of radiation.

History

Gridiron was discovered and colonized some time in the 2300s, along with the rest of the Frontier. During the Titan Wars in the late 2600s, Gridiron was made into the primary Frontier headquarters of the IMC, and became the site of the Frontier's first titan factory. The planet would continue holding this status in the Frontier War, and eventually was the site of its final battle in 2715. In this battle, many of the IMC's finest deserted or went missing, and an unknown pulse from the planet caused a communications blackout across the Frontier and eventually the Outlands.

• Training Ground "Whitehead" - A brutal IMC training facility for pilots with a 98% fatality rate.
• Rise - An abandoned IMC reservoir located less than 100 miles from Whitehead, converted by the Militia into a reconnaissance base.
• New Anchorage - A city.
