Demeter is a planet in the Frontier. It is featured in Titanfall's multiplayer map of the same name.
Description
Demeter is the nearest planet in the Frontier to the Core Systems, making it an important link between the regions. The planet orbits a dying red star[1] and has at least four moons.[2] Prior to the IMC's development, Demeter was a much greener planet, but has since been turned into a sweltering industrial grid.[3]
History
Demeter was discovered and colonized some time in the 2300s, along with the rest of the Frontier. Because of its key location, the planet was heavily guarded by IMC forces. In 2710, during the Frontier War, Militia forces led an assault on Demeter's primary refueling station and destroyed it, drastically slowing the rate at which IMC reinforcements could reach the Frontier. Although the IMC estimated they could repair the gateway in two years[4], it would not be repaired before the IMC's defeat in 2715.
Locations
- The Demeter Gateway - A critical refueling station for ships traveling between the Core Systems and the Frontier, fully automated and maintained by MRVNs.[5] Destroyed by the Militia at the end of Titanfall's campaign.
- Airbase Sierra - A massive complex located on Demeter's fourth moon.[2] The complex was protected by repulsor towers to keep local leviathans from overrunning the base.[6]
