Zipline
Ziplines are long, yellow ropes positioned around most maps which players can interact with (E//
/
) to mount and ride to the other end.
Function
- When interacting with a zipline, players will attach and travel in the direction they are aiming.
- If the zipline is vertical, it will prefer to send players upwards whenever possible.
- While on a zipline:
- Players can dismount at any time by jumping or crouching.
- Weapons can still be fired, albeit with severely worse accuracy.
- Regen items cannot be used.
- Most abilities can be used on ziplines, with the exception of placeable abilities (such as Rampart's
Amped Cover or Wattson's
Interception Pylon)
- Reaching the end of the zipline automatically ejects players.
- Jump Towers and Evac Towers both drop ziplines beneath them. Players will dismount and begin skydiving when they reach the top.
Variants
Zip Rails
Zip Rails are electrified variants of ziplines found on Broken Moon and in the Firing Range. These rails are much longer, bending around terrain to stretch between major POIs, and provide much greater speed and momentum. Along its path, there are several small boost pads that launch players upwards to mount the zipline. These are positioned in spots where the zip rail is too high to reach normally.
Pathfinder's Zipline Gun
Pathfinder ultimate, Zipline Gun, can be used to manually create a zipline between Pathfinder and a spot up to 200 meters away. Players on these ziplines move 66% faster than on a regular zipline.
