Players
- Fifty Legends compete against each other.
- In addition to the Starter Kit, Legends are pre-equipped with a Backpack.
- Similar to Mixtape, Legends passively regenerate health after not taking damage for 6 seconds.
- All Legends have Battle Sense, which causes an alert to show up on the HUD along with an alarm sound whenever another Legend is within 50 meters.
- All Legends have a Respawn Token, which is consumed the first time they die, and they will respawn inside The Ring 10 seconds after they died, skydiving back into the map.
- When a Legend with a Respawn Token dies, they drop their Shield Core, four stacks of ammo for the weapon they died from, and a stack of ammo for the killer's secondary weapon.
- If the killer has no secondary weapon, five stacks of ammo for their primary weapon are dropped instead.
- Dying without a Respawn Token means permanent death like normal, and a Death Box is produced.
- The Respawn Token can only be used in the first four Rounds. When Round 5 begins, all Respawn Tokens will be consumed, awarding the Legends who still had one 1000 EVO Points.
Gameplay
The goal of Solos is surviving, killing enemy Legends if necessary.
- Gameplay is the same as Battle Royale.
- Two points of interest are chosen to be Hot Zones, instead of one.
- Small and Large EVO Caches can spawn, awarding respectively 150 and 300 EVO Points each.
- All weapons are Fully Kitted, ranging from Common to Legendary.
- Attachments that aren't optics are disabled.
- Knockdown Shields and Mobile Respawn Beacons are disabled.
Depending on when Solos was available, there were some additional changes.
- Called Apex Solo.
- Limited Time Mode.
- Sixty Legends compete against each other. Besides this, the mode was no different from standard Battle Royale.
Winning
- The last Legend that survives wins.

Trivia
- Ever since Iron Crown ended, Respawn Entertainment developers have always been adamant on never bringing back Solos despite the huge amount of requests by the community, providing their reasons as to why the mode would never return in multiple interviews, with the most recent being roughly three months before the mode returned. The mode, however, finally returned in Season 21 after an outstanding 1716 days hiatus.
- In the Season 21 Gameplay Trailer, Respawn's iconic "Solos Is Never Coming Back" claim is directly referenced.
Bugs
- Backpacks spawn, even if Legends are equipped with one as part of the mode's own Starter Kit.
- Extended Mags spawn, even if all weapons are Fully Kitted.
