The Bocek Compound Bow, Bocek, or Bow, is a compound bow introduced in Season 9 that utilizes
Arrows.
Unlike other weapons, the Bocek fires an arrow when the Fire button (default: /
/
) is released. Holding the button for longer before firing will increase its damage, arrow speed, and accuracy, at the cost of slower fire rate. Pressing Reload (default: R /
/
) while charging an arrow will un-nock it without firing. The Bocek also does not have a magazine but instead draws ammo directly from its internal ammo pool.
The Bocek spawns with 40 Arrows (50 for Sparrow), which do not take up an inventory slot and can be replenished either by retrieving Arrows that have been shot into surfaces, or looted from the Death Box of an arrow-struck player (maximum 4). Each Bocek has its own Arrow supply, and equipping two Boceks will not pool their arrows.
The Bocek can be Primed using a Frag Grenade, which takes 2.5 seconds. At maximum draw, a Primed Bocek will fire explosive arrows that explode after 2 seconds in a 5 meter radius, dealing up to 25 damage. Explosive arrows deal less damage upon impact. The Primed charge decays over time and with each explosive arrow fired, for a maximum of 7 explosive arrows per charge (9 for Sparrow).
The Bocek comes with an integrated Accelerator Hop-Up, providing additional EVO and Ultimate charge from dealing damage, and granting 20% Ultimate charge upon knocks or assists, even if the weapon is holstered.

However, many parts of the Frontier proved to be inhospitable, and in lean months, these pieces of sports equipment were found to be a silent and inexpensive means of securing wild game. The latest models have been designed for durability, precision, and power, and while the bow does not see regular use in combat where firearms are favored, it remains deadly in the hands of a skilled archer. |

Trivia
- The Bocek Compound Bow is named after David Bocek, one of Respawn Entertainment's ex-game designers.
- The Bocek Compound Bow is one of two weapons in the game, the other being the C.A.R. SMG, with two slightly different inspect animations. The Bocek's depends on the player having arrows in their inventory or not.
- The arrows change color based on the active fire mode: blue for default fire mode, orange for
Shatter Caps.
- An early iteration of the Bocek can be seen equipped by Loba in Part 5 of The Legacy Antigen Quest, as the comic was completed before the Bocek's design was finalized.
